The Mansfield DFW03 facility is situated on a 27-acre site with an on-site substation. Initial capacity is anticipated to be available as early as Q4 2025. The site will use Aligned’s modular infrastructure design to speed build-out, and be equipped with the company’s proprietary air and liquid cooling technologies that can offer densities of up to 350 kW per rack.

Aligned filed for DFW03 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration back in May 2024. The site, located at 3801 Britton Road in Tarrant County, is set to span 429,600 sq ft. According to the filing, construction on the two-story facility is set to run from June 2024 to January 2027.

“The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex provides the ideal foundation for Aligned's continued expansion,” said Andrew Schaap, CEO of Aligned. “We are thrilled to bring our innovative data center solutions to Mansfield. Our focus will be on delivering the high-performance infrastructure our customers require to power their AI/cloud workloads and support the highest-density GPUs, with near-term power availability.”

Alignd’s two existing DFW facilities are located on a 19-acre campus at 28000 Summit Avenue in Plano. At full build-out, the site’s two buildings can offer 46MW across 375,000 sq ft.

The company’s 10MW DFW-01 facility was renovated and launched in 2015. The existing building dates to the 1980s and was originally an office and manufacturing plant for Memory Tech Inc. Plans for a second building offering 36MW were announced in 2022.

However, Aligned has also filed for a fourth facility – DFW04 – at the existing Plano campus. The $161 million facility is set to span 425,500 sq ft; construction is planned to run from October 2025 to October 2026.

Aligned currently operates campuses in Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Northern Virginia. The company has further sites in development in Maryland. Ohio, Illinois, and Virginia.

Outside of the US, Aligned acquired LATAM-based OData in May 2023 and has a footprint in Brazil, Chile, Columbia, and Mexico. It has also invested in Canadian firm QScale.

The company counts Macquarie Asset Management, CenterSquare, Mubadala, and Patrizia among its investors.
