2024 continues to see unprecedented data center demand growth globally. In North America, market supply has risen circa 26% YoY with vacancy rates continuing to sit at just 3%. In Europe, FLAPD markets have grown 16%, with secondary markets like Madrid growing as much as 49%. With the age of AI very much upon us, the industry’s original and largest event series must grow alongside the digital economy it supports.

The Connect series was developed to bring DCD editorial to life; connecting buyers, sellers and peer groups to design, build, and operate next-generation data centers. Focused on creating a personalized event experience to meet customer needs, the series focuses on creating high-intent, meaningful connections and peer-exchange programs in relaxed networking environments. Already this year, the series has seen 80% attendance growth in New York, followed by a sell-out edition in Madrid and over 1100+ attendees joining us for the Asia-Pacific edition in Bali next week; an exciting new launch for 2024!

To continue this growth and meet accelerating industry demand, we are delighted to announce an expanded schedule for 2025, featuring a new regional edition in Dubai to serve buyers and sellers across the Middle East and North Africa. Additionally, we are expanding events in New York, London, Cancun, and Brazil, with new co-located events aligned to DCD’s growing content channels, including compute and storage, and larger programs around data center investment.

DCD>Connect comes to the Middle East

DCD has long served the Middle East market with its online coverage, broadcast series, and learning & development portfolio. Announcing the continued expansion of the Connect Portfolio, DCD>Connect Managing Director, Rebecca Davison, highlighted that ‘with over 500,000 active users of DCD’s website across the Middle East, we are delighted to be bringing this innovative event model to Dubai.

‘This launch creates a peer exchange platform at a key time for the region and facilitates new partnerships needed for the journey ahead'.

The Numbers behind the growth in the Middle East

DCD forecast that the Middle East data center market will grow to circa 2000+ MW by 2029; circa 25% CAGR. The expected number of facilities is also growing fast with around a 92% growth projected in terms of number of data center facilities by 2029. In such a fast-evolving region, bringing together data centers experts year-round online and face-to-face, can enable greater peer-exchange and accelerate project-planning to meet this demand effectively and sustainably.

Exciting growth plans in New York, Dubai, London, Cancun & Sao Paulo

Following sell-out shows in 2024, expanded and extended events are already planned for 2025 including exciting new compute and AI focused content for DCD>Connect New York, DCD>Connect Cancun, DCD>Connect London & DCD>Connect Brazil. Jose Friebel, Managing Director, DCD International said: ‘After huge growth and sold-out shows in New York and Madrid and an exciting launch in Bali with over 1000+ delegates, I look forward to the continued development and growth of the sub-brands as we introduce further co-located events to truly reflect the exciting and growing digital infrastructure space we are serving.
