As the demand for data centers soars, the Northeast, particularly New York and New Jersey, has long been a hotspot due to its robust infrastructure, strategic proximity to major markets, and favorable tax and energy incentives. However, rapid developments in these regions are beginning to reach their capacity limits. As space becomes scarcer and more competitive, operators are increasingly considering whether the Northeast can continue to support the growing demand, or if it’s time to look to new regions for expansion.

This debate will explore the implications of data center saturation in the Northeast and the feasibility of shifting operations to other regions. How will real estate constraints and energy limitations shape the future of data center development? Is the move to 'Tier 2' locations a viable solution, or will operators face unexpected challenges in new regions? If operators are to move, how can they ensure that they are welcomed with open arms by their new communities?

Under the Chatham House Rule, this DCD>Debate invites industry experts to unravel these pivotal issues shaping the landscape of data center evolution.
