Chief Operating Officer, Medusa Submarine Cable System

Damien Bertrand has over 20 years of experience in the Telecommunications field in the EMEA region. Damien worked for major companies such as Setelcom and Orange in senior positions.

At IslaLink his role during 11 years was Director of the Mediterranean Business Unit, Executive Committee member and Board member of several subsidiaries, taking care of Sales and International Business Development in North Africa, Middle East and South Europe: Balalink for the Balearics Islands (existing system), Canalink for the Canary Islands (new project with 45M€ investment), Loukkos project for Morocco, OrVal (Oran Valencia), Oranlink for Marseille operations.

Damien is also board member of several subsidiaries in Spain and France.

As COO at Medusa since 2020, Damien Bertrand has been overseeing strategic operational initiatives, with mainly focus on North Africa and Middle East, thanks to his expertise in the region. His leadership plays a pivotal role in advancing the company's mission of providing reliable and innovative submarine cable solutions to clients in the Mediterranean.

Christian is working in the IP and telco business since 15 years. Currently, he is a Network Expansion Manager at Colt where he is responsible for Southern Europe. He is based in Barcelona and is managing network expansion projects in Southern Europe to constantly grow and improve Colt's footprint in the region. This includes tactical and strategic expansion projects, large investments, business cases and exciting go-to-market strategies

Prior to his current role, Christian has been a Senior Account Manager to grow Colt´s Wholesale business in Germany.
