DCD>Talks 1 megawatt per cabinet: The future of data center cooling with Chris Orlando | DDC

The increasing power demands of high-performance computing (HPC) and AI are pushing data centers towards 1 megawatt-per-cabinet densities. To achieve this extreme density, a paradigm shift in cooling technology is required. Today's DDC S-Series cabinets support 85kW per rack and are on a path to 100kW with air cooling, but how do we bridge the gap to 1 megawatt?

DDC's envisions a multi-faceted approach: combining air and liquid cooling in a hybrid system, incorporating advancements in liquid-to-the-chip technology for direct-to-source cooling, and leveraging intelligent DCIM software to predict workloads and dynamically adjust cooling. This comprehensive strategy will enable data centers to optimize efficiency and performance while supporting unprecedented power demands, paving the way for a future where 1 megawatt per cabinet is a reality.
