The companies said the acquisition will allow JLL to provide services across the full data center lifecycle and will add technical depth to its existing offerings.

The deal is expected to close shortly, though a detailed timeline has not been shared.

The acquisition will see a technical services division formed within JLL’s data center department. This will operate as SKAE, a JLL company, and SKAE’s 75 employees are expected to join the department.

“As we help clients navigate evolving real estate needs, driven by the rise in data center demands, we welcome the SKAE team and are excited to enhance our delivery of technical services for our clients’ critical assets,” said Neil Murray, CEO of work dynamics at JLL.

“This acquisition immediately enhances our ability to expertly support our clients’ data center solutions now and into the future.”

Peter Skae, principal at SKAE, added: “We were immediately drawn to the values upheld throughout JLL’s global organization, and how closely they reflect our principles at SKAE - particularly JLL’s safety-driven culture and focus on people, procedures, and policies.”

Layer 7 Capital acted as a financial advisor to SKAE in the transaction.

Founded in 1998 and headed up by Skae and his co-founder John McPartland, SKAE provides infrastructure and power-system design solutions to data center operators, including planning and engineering solutions, infrastructure installation, facilities maintenance, and operations.
