SLC5 will be the 20th DataBank facility across its portfolio of nine metro markets in Dallas, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, and Indianapolis.

SLC5 is located on the 23-acre Granite Point Campus in Bluffdale, Utah, 20 miles south of Salt Lake City.

The campus includes its own 66MW, N+1 substation and features 50,000 sq ft (4,600 sq m) of raised-floor space and 13MW of total power availability (on the website SLC5 is listed as a 20MW facility).

SLC5 also comes with a full suite of customer amenities and all the security features needed to meet HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SSAE-18 SOC1 and SOC2, GDPR, and FedRAMP compliance requirements.

Granite Point Campus is also located in an area of low natural disaster risk, which DataBank says makes it an ideal alternative to locations in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

According to DataBank's CEO, Raul K. Martynek, plans are already being drawn up for SLC6.
